National Homelessness Week 8th to 15th August
The Houses at Parliament event was held last Wednesday. Hundreds of homelessness workers gathered to raise awareness of the 60,000 public and community houses urgently needed now across Victoria. You can watch the recording here . As of this morning there are 67,401 paper houses folded. These houses are being displayed this week in National Homelessness Week.
The Barwon South West Homelessness Network facebook page has information on local events and the BSWHN website has data along with a petition to sign.
The Colac Library is displaying 300 blue paper houses this week to reflect the number of housesholds in the Shire needing public and community housing urgently along with businesses in the main street. Businesses are displaying houses in Warrnambool, Portland and Port Fairy this week to reflect the 1,700 houses needed for those on priority VHR applications across the South West.
