Barwon and South West Service Network Meetings

  BSWHN Logo Sept 2016                                       logo

Service Network meetings are an opportunity to share information and to gain knowledge about local services and supports to improve outcomes for people in your service. At the meetings, everyone has the opportunity to summarise their service, and identify resources available as well as the referral pathways.

The meetings are held quarterly in Geelomng, Colac, Warrnambool, Portland and Hamilton and are chaired jointly by the BSW Homelessness Network Coordinator and the Family Law Pathways Coordinator.  See flyers attached.
All practitioners in the local community, welfare and legal professions are welcome to attend so please forward this information throughout your networks.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

I am writing to inform you that the Mental Health Education Team at Barwon Health is delivering MHFA programs in both the Youth and the Standard MHFA training courses in 2017.

The training program is 2 days and is designed to provide participants with the skills to support someone who may be developing a mental illness or experiencing a mental health crisis. It has been researched and found to be effective and valued by participants; now an international program that began in Australia.
