Changes to the Working with Children Act 2005 came into effect from 1 August 2017. There are a number of changes to definition of “child related work” and also a broadening of those who need to apply for a WWCC
I'm happy to announce the regional Specialist Homelessness Sector training sessions for this semester. Last semester I organised a 2-day event in Colac, this time I've arranged 1 day sessions in both Geelong and Warrnambool. So SAVE THE DATES and register now! The session details are:

HealthPathways is the main navigation tool for health professionals in the Barwon region. HealthPathways has replaced Barwon's Mental Health, Dementia and Diabetes navigation tools.
Since 1 July 2011, homelessness data for the new Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) collection has been submitted through a secure Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) website called Specialist Homelessness Online Reporting (SHOR).
There are significant opportunities, but also areas where the NDIS will change the way many not for profit organisations go about achieving their mission. Indeed the changes are so profound the continued existence of some organisations will be open for debate.
This lunchtime workshop is designed to challenge the thinking of Board and Executive staff about the ways they have always done business.
The workshop will be structured around candid discussions with other industry leaders. It is aimed to assist organisational leaders to consider strategic changes such as consolidating activities, moving into new areas or divesting some activities.
Over-55s pushed to front of social housing queue
Seven thousand people at risk of homelessness in Victoria will be moved onto a high-priority waiting list for secure social housing, but on one condition – they must be aged 55 or older.

We are also planning a Christmas family day for Sunday the 17th of December and will send flyers out later for this. Monthly cuppas are also continuing for the first Thursday of each month from 10.30 am at the Simpson Community Centre.
