News from Beyond the Bell

The Beyond the Bell vision is that:
"Our community is a leader in working together to enable our young people to succeed"
We will know we have succeeded when we have 90% or more of our young people achieving Year 12 or equivalent (Certificate III) by 2030

$290,000 Funding Boost for Beyond the Bell
Beyond the Bell has welcomed a major funding boost that will “put reality underneath the aspirations” of young people across the Great South Coast.
The Victorian Government has announced $290,000 in funding for the ‘Beyond the Bell’ initiative, which aims to improve young people’s chances of attaining Year 12 or equivalent education and better prepare them for further education and employment.
Great South Coast Beyond the Bell Ltd Board chairman Mike Holland said this was the biggest funding allocation received by the initiative and it would build on support from various agencies and philanthropic trusts.
“It will allow us to introduce new initiatives following group priorities across the six local government areas,” Mr Holland said.
The funding will also provide backbone support and administrative support and create opportunities for professional learning of people in the Beyond the Bell network.
Mr Holland said he hoped the Government funding would enthuse and encourage partners, agencies and schools to continue their contributions, and inspire the community to embrace education and learning.
“Beyond the Bell has the potential to make a significant long-term shift in the way communities support young people and view education as an integral part of our lives.”
