The community services industry is experiencing a time of significant change driven by a number of State and Commonwealth Government reforms, as well as social and economic factors.

The Health and Human Services Partnership Implementation Committee (HSHPIC), co-chaired by the department and the Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) is partnering with Victorian community services to develop a 10 year Community Services Industry Plan for Victoria. Read more

Next steps for new disability workforce registration scheme

The Victorian Government is seeking community views on an independent, legislated registration and accreditation scheme for Victoria’s disability workforce. The scheme forms part of the Government’s ‘zero tolerance’ approach to abuse of people with disability, and will complement the new national Quality and Safeguarding Framework. Read more
