Make affordable housing a reality
Victorian Homelessness Achievement Award Winners & nominees

Thank you for coming to the Victorian Homelessness Conference 2017

The overarching goals of the Victorian Homelessness Conference are to raise the profile of strategies to end homelessness and, to empower Australians to put those strategies into action.

This is why your involvement and enthusiasm at this year's conference is so very much appreciated. This year's conference was a sell-out event, but ultimately, it was the expertise of our speakers and the thoughtful but passionate contributions from our attendees that made it a success. From myself and all the staff at Council to Homeless Persons, thank you

I would also like to extend another congratulations to all our Award recipients and nominees (please see the full list below and on our website).  It's a true pleasure for us to recognise your hard work and successes.

Despite our successes, however, it must be remembered that these are tough times.

Upcoming ABS data is expected to show a rise in the number of Australians experiencing homelessness.  And this month, the City of Melbourne will vote on the proposed rough sleeping bylaws.

In many conference sessions and lunch-break conversations, a desire for the sector to work even closer together in order to meet these challenges was expressed often, to myself and other CHP staff.

In that spirit, I invite you to stay connected with us post-conference so that we can continue to work together to end homelessness in Australia

Please stay in touch via the links below.  We look forward to seeing you all again in 2019

Thank you

Jenny Smith, CEO, Council to Homeless Persons
