I presented to the Barwon Male Health Network meeting a few weeks back about a program I founded called HALT (Hope Assistance Local Tradies) that aims to raise awareness about Mental health in the building industry and reduce the stigma attached to Mental health wellbeing.
HALT hopes to build a bridge between Tradies and both local and national mental health support services at a grass roots level. We do this by holding ‘Save your Bacon’ brekky’s at Hardware stores.
Our 1st HALT ‘Save your Bacon’ brekky will be at Faggs Mitre 10 in South Geelong on Tuesday the 21st of April from 7.30am.
It’s free for Tradies, no expectations to talk, it’s about prevention and community togetherness.
If you know of any Tradies that might like to attend, or would like to come along yourself and support, feel free.
I’ve attached the poster for the event.
