The Occasional Counsellor workshop

This workshop is aimed at those who are not employed in a counselling role but who are called upon to give emotional support to individuals who are distressed, bewildered, angry or confused. 

The workshop will provide the  participants with simple, practical strategies for assisting their clients while clearly remaining within their existing role. 

Aims

  • To introduce the participants to the skills of counselling

  • To teach simple practical strategies for assisting individuals who are worried or upset. 

  • To help the participants understand the nature and limits of their role.

  • To assist the participants in learning how to look after themselves while looking after others.
