What is the cost of caring for others? Are you at risk of experiencing vicarious trauma?

At 1800RESPECT we know that as a frontline worker, you can play a critical role in supporting women who are experiencing violence. However, we also know that when you work with vulnerable or traumatised clients, there is a risk that you will experience ongoing stress, burnout or vicarious trauma.

In order to keep playing this critical role, it's important to acknowledge these risks and take action to reduce them. To help, 1800RESPECT has developed an Online Resilience Program. Take our Resilience Assessment and explore the program here.

You can find more information including videos, webinars and the e-resilience program in the Frontline Workers Toolkit here.

Remember 1800RESPECT is not only a support service for people affected by sexual assault, domestic and family violence. It is also an information and support service for family, friends, and frontline workers. For confidential telephone and online support 24 hours, 7 days a week, call 1800 737 732.

Taking care of yourself is a vital part of our united stand against domestic and family violence.
